How this is calculated
GST/HST is charged on the pre-tax price. To remove tax from a tax-included total, divide by (1 + rate) rather than subtracting the rate. You generally charge the rate of the province where your customer receives the goods or service.
The GST/HST rates built into this calculator match the CRA’s GST/HST rates by province, in effect since April 1, 2025. Provincial sales taxes (PST, RST and QST) are set by each province, so confirm those rates with the province.
